With rumors of my “retirement” rampant for the last year, it was refreshing to go to Fespa in Munich and at the same time get a little “ink.” That’s trade talk for getting my name in print. I had the great pleasure of being featured in four different magazines over the last few months. Over the years I have cultivated great friendships with a lot of the trade magazines and have written articles for most of them.
Images Magazine UK
One of the better articles was an interview with my good friend Jonathan Vince of Images Magazine in the UK. Owned by long time friends Cathy Hobson and Neil Bunyan, I have probably written 50 articles for Images over the years. Jonathan called me up and we had a nice chat on the phone that became an interview. If you don’t mind reading a magazine in a PDF, here is a link to the May issue. My interview is on page 58.
656 Editions/Fespa Fabric Special Edition
At the same time my friend, Guillaume ABOU, from 656 Editions (formerly Marquage Textile Magazine and now called C! Mag) wanted an interview and frankly, I did a little re-cycling of the Images interview. This ran in their French and Itallian versions and in a special Fespa Fabric issue that was given out in Munich. I also wrote articles for a number of years for this publication. Read more about this magazine here. Here is a link to C! Mag and the Fespa Fabric Special Edition. I can’t seem to get the Special Edition to open or maybe it is just slow.
Printwear & Promotion UK
If that wasn’t enough, my friends at Printwear & Promotion in the UK wanted something before Fespa and ran a nice little business article I wrote. You can read the full article here on page 26 and 27.
Airbrush Action Magazine
And, to top it off my very good long-time friend, Cliff Stieglitz, of Airbrush Action Magazine did a nice piece on my classes. I have known Cliff for over 30 years and am now doing screen printing classes at his very popular Airbrush Getaways. The next one is in Las Vegas the end of September. Cliff did a nice piece on the classes I teach and this appeared in the June issue. The issues are not online but the magazine (which is great!) is available from Barnes & Noble and other major bookstore chains. Read more about this issue here.
