Convert to Halftones Issue with MAC Silicon and Photoshop

There is again a random issue when using the Convert to Halftone Dots feature in T-Seps when on a Mac with a Silicon processor. The routine will often NOT convert to halftones but will convert the file using the 50% Threshold feature in Photoshop. These are NOT halftones but look more like little diamonds.

This problem has been reported to Adobe many times but when they came out with Photoshop version 23.0 they broke simple commands used in Javascript. It is confusing why this happened but T-Seps uses a very simple Javascript routine for this feature.

We have a work around that seems to fix this. It appears that when you load/open Photoshop the Image/Mode/Bitmap routine defaults to 50% Threshold. When our routine runs, Photoshop ignores our command to use Halftone Screen and uses the default 50% Threshold command.

BUT…… before you run our routine if you open a grayscale file and run the Image/Mode/Bitmap routine set to 1440 Output and Halftone Screen….. Photoshop remembers this setting and it will use this setting when you run our routine from T-Seps. It will stay this way as the default until you shut down Photoshop and restart it. If you do that then you must again run a quick routine to change the default to Halftone Screen.
