Ink Color Chart – Equivalent Pantone Colors

This page is a work in progress. When we first developed FastFilms back in 1999, we mainly used Union Ink as our test ink. We were very close back then to the owners and they provided ink for our classes. We had a lot of Union Ink on the shelves.

But, over the years companies and ink colors and their names have changed and we have customers using T-Seps and FastFilms using all the major and minor brands. The T-Seps 2.0 manual has a Reference Card showing the popular routines and the Pantone ink colors that T-Seps calls out. We have not done a Reference Card yet for T-Seps 3.0 but we will do one shortly.

This page is our first attempt in many years to put a brand/ink name to the various colors T-Seps uses for stock routines. Keep in mind that this is not an exact science. We may call for a Pantone 102 yellow but your design might have a Pantone 108 (a little golder) specified. T-Seps will find all the channel/separation information for the yellow and you simply change to the proper ink color.

We get asked a lot if users need to buy an ink mixing system. If you stay with the stock colors in the program you can generally not do that. But, in the real world of screen printing every job is different and there is often a logo or graphic that you have to match. We highly recommend an ink system. Just don’t forget that T-Seps is designed to use GENERAL PURPOSE ink for the colors on light and dark shirts (for plastisol). This means NOT an opaque ink. We recommend using a good HIGH OPACITY (not low bleed) ink for your underbase on dark shirts. It is the top colors that need to be general purpose.
