Impressions Magazine Editor’s Son Official Microsoft Blogger for Winter Olympics

DylanDerryberryCommentary from Scott Fresener… For those of us on the inside, Marcia Derryberry, Editor-in-Chief of Impressions Magazine, has been a staple of this industry for as long as we can remember. She is now a very proud mama as her son, Dylan, was voted one of two official Microsoft Winter Olympics Bloggers! Dylan Derryberry gets to spend 10 days in Vancouver along with other winner, Amber Johnson. Dylan is 19 years old and a sophomore journalism student at Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Johnson and Derryberry were two of the 10 contest semifinalists chosen by a panel of judges, including five-time Olympic gold medalist Bonnie Blair and online video stars Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld from CollegeHumor.com. The public also voted for their favorite semifinalists online, and Johnson and Derryberry were selected based on the number of votes they received.

Both Johnson and Derryberry will take a 10-day trip to Vancouver, where they will work alongside Team USA to blog about the U.S. team using top-of-the-line technology including Microsoft Office 2010 Professional beta and the high-performance Acer Aspire 4810 laptop.

Congratulations to Dylan and of course to our good friend, Marcia for an outstanding achievement. Read more here at the Microsoft website and view an interview I did with Marcia at SGIA here.
